Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy was founded in 1968 by a group of seven men concerned about the continuing education of their children.
As an extension of Chapel Hill Christian School, the first classes were held in the old Crawford School in Cuyahoga Falls, In May 1970, the doors of the current facility opened to 194 students; eight students made up the first graduating class. On March 10, 1975, the Academy became a state-chartered junior-senior high school for grades 7-12.
CVCA has grown through the faithful prayers and monetary gifts from an ever-increasing number of individuals, churches, and organizations interested in supporting quality Christ-centered secondary education.
Today, the school serves a six-county area and represents over 200 churches. The physical plant of nearly 125,000 square feet houses, in addition to 43 classrooms, a library/learning resource center with 26,000 volumes, five computer labs, a portable computer lab, 6 science labs, two gymnasiums, and a 600 seat chapel/auditorium. The 70-acre campus also contains a track, baseball field, softball field, two soccer/football fields, tennis courts, and wrestling facility. |
