Video Editing 1
In this class students are introduced to video editing and camera techniques. Using Apple Mac G5’s students begin video editing learning iMovie and other software such as GarageBand for music and iDVD for DVD creation. Projects begin with basic editing techniques and grow as the student learns camera operations and techniques. Storyboarding, narration and basic audio fundamentals are also added so the student will have a good base in video media techniques.
Video Editing 2
Video Editing 2 introduces the student to advanced editing software using Final Cut Pro 5(FCP), and its support software: SoundTrack Pro, LiveType and Motion. Building on the foundation of camera techniques learned in the Video Editing 1, the student will also learn interviewing and lighting for video. Along with FCP, the student will be producing advanced video projects with interviews and narration. These techniques will allow each student to produce documentaries, news type stories and other common video media styles.
Video Editing 3
The final class in the series allows the student to explore video media in today’s multi-platform environment. Students will be creating projects for the CVCA website, video yearbook and a monthly “TV “style video magazine. Each student will continue improving their skills in FCP and be offered extensive opportunities to videotaping a wide range of school activities and explore their own creative ideas.
