• Detention is held during lunch periods and will include a supervised work project.  The student reports to the designated area.  Any student who comes late or fails to attend a scheduled detention will be assigned additional consequences.

INFRACTIONS RECEIVING A DETENTION

• Disobedience
• Disruptive behavior
• Skipping class
• Detention cuts
• Unexcused tardiness to class
• Leaving class without permission
• School bus disruptions - serious violators may be suject to immediate suspension fro mbus privileges.
• Standard dress violation - if necessary, parents are called to bring in what is needed for the student to comply with dress code.  If parents cannot be reached, students will sit out of classes and do assigned work the remainder of the school day.  Missed class time will be considered an unexcused absence and may likely result in an academic penalty.
• Gum chewing - in addition to detention, a $1.00 fine will be assessed (money to be used for cleaning supplies) The fine is due immediately upon notification from the office.  NOTE:  the fine increases by $5.00 increments for each offense (example:  the 4th gum violation would be $20.00)
• Unexcused tardiness to school

• Students who accrue five office detentions in one semester will be placed on Behavioral Watch at the time of the fifth detention.  Students who accrue seven office detentions in one semester will be assigned an in-school suspension at the time of the seventh detention.
