The Varsity men's tennis team has had an amazing season, finishing 3rd in the State Tournament and achieving a #3 ranking for the 2008 season. Led by freshman Alex
Aleman in first singles(28-1), 2nd singles senior Chad Thompson(22-6), 3rd
singles freshman Lou Konstan(25-2), the Royals had great success. Our first
doubles team of freshman Owen Baggett and sophomore David Ramey, and our second doubles team of juniors Daniel Stoddard and Brian Clark also contributed greatly.
The match against University School was arguably the most intense match
CVCA men's tennis has ever played. To add to the excitement, the match
was also most likely watched by more fans, family and other schools than
any in men's tennis history at CVCA. Before this match, CVCA had never
defeated University School. Needless to say, CVCA won the match with 3
exciting singles victories, clinching the Northeast region and qualifying CVCA to compete in the State tournament
Alex Aleman was named to the second team All-State. This season was loaded with highlights: Spending four days at State, winning the NEO
Division !! team tournament match against University School, and a year-end dinner
to Fleming's promised by Coach Bradford if we won the NEO tournament, a couple of
interesting van rides, and a lot of camaraderie and laughter were highlights of the
season. The team worked very hard and honored the Lord. The Head Varsity Coach is
Lois Bradford, and she was assisted by Kenton Thompson.
