Softball 2008 Review
CVCA’s softball team finished the 2008 season with a record of 12-14 and a fourth-place in the PAC at 5-7. This team of outstanding young ladies made this year a very rewarding season. They worked hard as a team and cared for each other as individuals, praying with partners before games and cheering and encouraging each other during games and practices. The team shirts displayed the Royals’ saying for the year: “1 Team- 1 Purpose.” While these words could hold many positive meanings for sports, but Mary Gsellman, the team’s only senior, offered the best insight by saying the Royals formed “one team with the purpose of honoring Jesus in all we say and do.”
The award winners for the season were Victoria Risenhoover, MVP and PAC First Team; Julie Keslar, Outstanding Offense and PAC First Team; Mackenzie Fisher, Outstanding Defense and PAC Second Team; Stacey Salyer, Best Team Player; and Mary Gsellman, Mighty in Spirit. Good luck to Mary as she goes to nursing school at Cincinnati University. Though the team will miss her, God has great adventures planned for her future.
